Marine Deckhand

Ardersier Port Authority are looking for a deckhand willing to work across multiple vessels and the ability to work under pressure as part of our marine team.

The deckhand's responsibilities include, relaying important information, maintaining equipment, assisting with watchkeeping duties, and ensuring the general upkeep of the vessel.

**Deckhand Responsibilities Include**:

- Greasing and cleaning machinery.
- Using various ropes, knots and radio and navigational equipment.
- Assisting during emergencies and effectively using safety equipment.
- Performing general maintenance duties like painting, sweeping, and mopping.

**Deckhand Requirements**:

- Seafarers Medical Certificate (ENG 1)
- STCW (firefighting, sea survival, basic first aid & personal social responsibility)
- Physical fitness and strength.
- Knowledge of maritime safety.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Additional certification may be required, but generally, on-the-job training takes place.

It would be advantageous, but not necessary, to have the following qualifications:

- Powerboat Level 2
- EHD (Efficient Deck Hand)
- AEC (Approved Engine Course)

Competitive rates of pay.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £700.00 per week

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
