Learning and Development Strategy
To work with senior and middle leaders across the charity to identify learning and training needs across the charity and to develop a strategy and operational plan to meet these needs which must include and meet all mandatory, regulatory and CPD requirements. The plan must make the most of inset day, twilight training opportunities but also meet the requirements of 52-week residential colleagues
- Continuously review and develop all learning and development activities and make improvements as required. To develop and maintain an effective and robust method of evaluating L&D activities.
- Work collaboratively with senior and middle leaders to facilitate the delivery of an effective Leadership Development programme
- Responsible for research and advising on appropriate learning and development activities including qualifications
- Ensure that training where required is accredited appropriately and due diligence is undertaken to ensure that we are meeting accreditation, regulatory and mandatory requirements
- Responsible for maintaining and developing effective and rewarding links with other providers and professionals
- Effectively manage the L&D budget with the support of the HR manager both on a day to day basis and plan strategically in line with finance budget cycle and the activities required across each year
- Commission training to be delivered by external training providers and manage the delivery of this
- To develop and maintain a group of internal trainers by providing training, support and expertise, setting standards and developing trainers' competence
- To report on mandatory and compliance training on a regular and as required basis. To proactively flag any concerns and to proactively manage colleagues and training providers
- To meet with inspectors and local authorities as required with support from the HR Manager/ Senior HR Advisor to discuss/update/report on L&D activities. To take on board and implement feedback and actions from inspections
- To ensure that training policies, procedures and reports are produced by deadline to the required standard
- Undertake relevant research into potential 'clients' and alternative suppliers
- To set up partnerships with other schools/colleges/charities and venue providers
- To work with the Marketing and Fundraising functions to advertise the external 'offer' and to try to secure funds to support this ambitious endeavour

- L&D qualification or equivalent professional experience essential
- Ability to oversee and plan, deliver, and evaluate organisational learning events

The Learning and Development Co-ordinator will be based half the week in Seaford and half the week in Brighton, £27000. 32 days holidays plus Bank Holidays, pension, cycle to work scheme, access to 40% salary before payday after probation, discounts across local businesses and free parking. Looking to interview immediately, with a comprehensive handover period. Full time working Monday-Friday 8.30am-4.30pm.
