**_ The opportunity:_**

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and organized individual to join the team as Project Leader within the Gripen Production contract for Saab. Based on site in Edinburgh you will be part of a large and highly complex Radar production and development programme in Airborne AESA Radar Sector. As a Project Leader you will play a crucial role in supporting project management activities across the program and you will liaise closely with a large incumbent Integrated Project Team (IPT) comprised of a multi-site cross-functional skillset of engineers and professionals from across the business.

**_ What you’ll do as a Project Leader:_**

You will work closely with the incumbent project managers and wider IPT in the successful delivery of a compliant project in line with the Customer, Contractual and Legislative requirements. This will be accomplished through effective planning and management, with strong communication that proactively encourages project delivery across all functional business areas to achieve cost, quality and schedule within budget.

You will proactively monitor project progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action, and to identify and manage risks to the production project, including the development of a contingency plan.

You will support and also conduct project reviews and make recommendations to appropriate business areas.

**_ What we need from you:_**
- You will typically be degree qualified in a business or engineering related discipline or an equivalent suitable level of work experience
- You will have exposure and experience of different project management techniques and when/how to use them, covering all aspects of project planning, scheduling, work package management and cost control.
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload, working to tight timescales/deadlines and the ability to both work autonomously and within a team environment
- Proven stakeholder management
- You will be a team player and have the natural ability to support others and seek support
- You will possess effective and flexible communication, negotiation skills and interpersonal skills
- A pro-active approach with a "can do" attitude, striving for continuous improvement, effectiveness and efficiency who is looking to grow their technical, project management and personal skills.

**And it would be beneficial if you have**:
A working knowledge of SAP

PMP qualification, (or working towards a PMP qualification)
