**Careers Adviser**

You will produce tailored careers information, advice and guidance to meet the needs of young people including vulnerable groups and those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will provide careers advice and guidance in a one-to-one setting or group workshops to support students with their career aspirations and arrange career talks and a range of activities for students.

You will support the college to achieve the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks set out in the Government's Careers Strategy, undertaking administration duties to ensure that all delivery evidence is complete and compliant in line with contract and quality standards.

Support the implementation and delivery of a comprehensive programme of student careers and employability activities and events, in collaboration with the departments; such as university visits, HE fairs, recruitment and employer workshops and talks, guest speakers, internal progression days.

**About you**

You will have:

- Level 6 qualification in careers guidance or be working toward this goal
- Experience of working with young people preferably in a school or college setting
- Thorough knowledge of education, employment, training and personal development opportunities that are available for young people
- Knowledge of the local labour market and issues relating to learning and employment
- Detailed knowledge of relevant developments in Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance
- Demonstrate an up-to-date knowledge of legislation and statutory requirements of working with young people
- An understanding of and a commitment to, equality of opportunity for all
- Demonstrate professional commitment to children’s rights, equal opportunities and diversity
- Have the ability to engage with and inspire young people with SEND and disadvantage as well as with their parents/carers.
- You will be approachable with excellent listening skills and a desire to inspire students to achieve their full potential by introducing them to new ideas and pathways.
