Chatham, United Kingdom Southern Education Recruitment Full time

I am currently working with a SEN school located in the Chatham area who are looking for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to start in Term 3. A SEMH school providing education to pupils across secondary year groups up to KS4; TAs will need to have a flexibleand adaptable working ethos to support in this environment.

Whilst a background within SEN is desirable, if you have experience or feel confident in at least two of the following please get in touch:

- Youth Offending Services
- Experience supporting young people in an AP/PRU setting
- Team Teach/SKIP, CPI, MAPA Physical Intervention Training
- Emotionally robust
- Sports coaching qualification or experience

**The Role**:

- Teaching Assistant (Social, Emotional, Mental Health)
- Full-Time - Monday to Friday 08:30 - 15:30
- Start Date: Term 3
- Daily Rate: from £75 (depending on experience)

**The School**:
All the students at the school have an EHCP (Education Health and Care Plan), with a primary need of SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). Some exhibit very challenging behaviour and Mainstream schooling is not always the most appropriate setting forthem. Sometimes their first encounter of school has been chaotic and certainly challenging, many have had a fragmented education and have fallen behind their peers academically. This often results in self-esteem issues and anti-social behaviour.

With small classes and amazing staff that truly understand SEMH, the school feel that once a student starts with them they have every opportunity to turn their lives around. Every child has the right to achieve and they believe that every parent and carerhas the right to expect that the school will do its very best for their child. With this in mind, the staff work closely with parents and carers and other agencies to help each student make positive choices and changes which will serve them better in theirfuture.

A key feature that the school try to adopt is teaching the students to take responsibility for their behaviour and consequences. The staff teach them to try and put things right when they go wrong, together with learning the values of tolerance and respectfor themselves and others.
- Be able to commit to working the hours specified above.
- If you have been a UK resident for less than 5 years, a right to work visa must be provided and a criminal background check certificate must be provided for any country resided in for 6 months or more within the past 5 years.
- Provide all required documentation (ID, Qualifications)
