Job Purpose/Summary

The programme is now at a point where we need to explore at scale the existing body of evidence or create the body of knowledge where the evidence base is missing in partnership with our Higher Education Institute (HEI) and horizon scan internationally/nationally to understand the best ways to provide and deliver care

This post requires the post holder to be able to work collaboratively & influence at a national level, establish working relationships at pace with provider trusts to develop the evidence base and write briefing papers summarizing the findings to support the workstreams on their decision making for Hospital 2.0

The post holder will lead the provision of an efficient, effective, and well-co-ordinated service capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation. As the New Hospital programme (NHP) is evolving, the precise nature of the role may need to change as the programme becomes established and agreed. The post holder may need to work flexibly across several delivery areas.

Active participant in the NHP Transformation Team’s Innovation workstream, lead and support the evidence building for the Transformation Workstreams. There will be 3 Innovation Research Leads within the teamThis role will be supporting the Workforce workstream

Develop working relationships with national & international leads/experts/working groups to support our thinking & decision making

Assist the Head of Innovation, Workstream Directors, Director of Transformation & SRO on all clinical research matters related to the programme & deputise for the Head of Innovation where required.

Work with the Head of Innovation to develop an ongoing program of work to support the digital workstream in horizon scanning, review the current evidence or creating the evidence with our HEI team

Lead development of briefing papers summarising the critical appraisal of evidence for the workstream projects & ensure that this is signed off at Policy & Standards Committee prior to delivering the papers to the workstream where decisions & next steps are made.

Support the Innovation Collaboration Officers in working in partnership with identified organisations to support us developing the evidence base for identified projects

Ensure that the innovation workstream’s risk register research is maintained & updated, & assurance provided of how identified risks are being managed & mitigated

Work with the wider team & support the research fellows in studies which will inform the programmes decision making

The NHP is established as a multi-functional national programme team, to drive the programme and individual project activity

The Programme needs a Single Clinical Authority to ensure that standards are met for each trust’s clinical needs

The NHP Transformation Directorate is a critical part of the NHP with a key focus on strategic development of key workstreams which are Clinical, Innovation, Digital, Workforce, Estates & Facilities Management. The Innovation Workstream includes a green and sustainability workstream which will review or develop the body of knowledge for all decision making in relation to Hospital 2.0 && ensure that there is continuous learning and improvement to our decision making

Overall Team Purpose

To ensure innovation is a common thread throughout the programme so that we drive excellent clinical and operational outcomes and create designs to maximise benefit from established healthcare transformational assumptions

To provide a clinical safety focus, patient and staff experience focus and clinical productivity throughout the life of the programme
