Overview:
**Child Health Practitioner | £35,585 - £41,834 + Pay Supplement (additional £1,500- £4,500 per annum) | Monday - Friday | Flexi-time | Hybrid Working | No weekends, nights or shift work | 25 Days Holiday (increasing to 30 after 4 years’ service) plus 11.5 Public and Privilege.**
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional to join us as a Child Health Practitioner where you will utilise your professional knowledge and expertise to help shape our service and contribute to our continuous improvement. Working collaboratively with our Case Managers you will be providing advice and guidance, ensuring we provide an excellent service to our clients.

- This is a permanent and pensionable appointment with an attractive Civil Service pension, employer contributions between 27.1% - 27.9%.
- Health professional staff providing health-assessments and medical opinion in relation to the administration of disability benefits, and who are existing members of the NHS Pension Scheme, will be permitted continued access to the NHS Pension Scheme.

**Hybrid Working**
We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices. There is an expectation of a minimum 2 days per week in your assigned location. Your base location will be either Glasgow or Dundee.

**Responsibilities**:
- Providing expertise and advice on child physical health and/or child mental health to Case Managers, ensuring they can make robust and fair decisions and understand how a person’s condition may impact their day-to-day life and that of their family.
- Providing advice on a broad range of matters, for example, suggesting what further supporting information about a person’s condition should be obtained to support decision making.
- Assisting Case Managers to understand how a person’s condition may impact their daily life and that of their family.
- Contributing to and influence continuous improvement to help shape and develop this new service.
- Engaging with clients, medical and social care professionals to understand the impact of the client’s circumstances and condition and the support in place to help them.
- Collaborating with the Scottish Government’s Social Security, Health & Social Care Directorates to ensure that devolved disability benefits reflect Ministerial ambitions to provide a fair system of Social Security that prioritises the dignity, fairness and respect of clients.
- Participate in audit and peer review activities as required by Social Security Scotland and Scottish Ministers.
