**Hear Our voice - Youth Mental Health Worker**

**Work Location: 2 x posts across Cornwall**

**Hours: Part Time 18.5 hours p/w**

**Salary: JNC 15**

Working as part of Young People Cornwall’s Hear Our Voice mental health project, we are looking for two experienced and compassionate workers to provide high quality 1 to 1 and group work support. You will be working with young people in Cornwall aged 16-25yrs, who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health and emotional well-being.

This post is a developing role predominately based within a range of community-based support hub settings. Using a youth work approach, alongside evidence-based early interventions for mental health and wellbeing, the post-holder will provide a flexible, accessible, inclusive and young-person centred service, working collaboratively with young people, parents/carers and multi-agency partners to meet individual needs and support young people to achieve their personal goals and outcomes.

Group & 1-1 work will focus on developing protective factors amongst high-risk groups of 16-25 year olds such as introducing sports and physical activity, GP registration, improving educational and employment opportunities, improving access to support services and developing self-esteem, confidence and resilience.

All successful post holders will be required to work on shared initiatives within Young People Cornwall and to contribute to the wider Youth Work delivery team. These posts will require rigorous and robust reporting against a number of targets and outcomes and will require successful applicants to work during evenings & weekends.

A valid UK driving licence is essential for these posts.
