Nursery Cook

Lodge Farm Nursery School have a great opportunity to join their team, based on a agricultural farm in the Chippenham area.

We are looking for a Nursery Cook to cater for children 0-4years.

You will need to be able to cook a range of healthy homecooked meals independently.

Maintain an excellent standard of cleaning whilst following our policies and procedures, and show great organisation skills completing the correct paperwork daily.

You should hold a certificate in food hygiene or be willing to complete the course, be able to cater for individual dietary requirements and have some understanding on why or how you should cater for them.

Communication should be at a high level to be able to work with management, plan seasonal menu changes and carry out weekly online shopping orders.

Monday-Friday (all year round) Approx 30 hours a week

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and portion sizes
- Ensure food quality standards
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures
- Assist in inventory management and ordering supplies
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen area

**Experience**:

- Previous experience as a cook in a similar setting is ideal but not required
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately

**Skills**:

- Food safety: Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Food preparation: Ability to prepare ingredients safely and keep separate allergens
- Cook: Experience in cooking a variety of dishes
- Meal preparation: Ability to plan and organise meal preparation for large groups
