An exciting opportunity has arisen to undertake the role of Operational Driver Training Instructor within Learning & Development at Essex Police College and other training venues.

You must maintain the high standards set by the College of Policing at all times, ensuring the delivery, practice and instruction is provided to students in line with respective guidance.

You must be organised and confident with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, this will be combined with the ability to debrief course attendees, both verbally and in writing, to enable them to develop to their full potential. An attention to detail and high levels of concentration are also essential.

You must have a good understanding of the organisation, its culture and environment, and have the personal resourcefulness to find relevant information and materials which can be used to enhance learning and development.

IT literacy is necessary to analyse data and produce reports and course materials in a range of different formats, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

You (if not already held) must successfully pass the Level 3 Certificate in Learning and Development (equivalent or higher).

You will be required to pass the College of Policing (COP) Police Driving Instructors Course and progress to achieve assessors’ qualifications commensurate with the role including TAQA Assessor Award or equivalent, DSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) as required.

Strong Interpersonal & communication skills, both written and verbal.

Have previous experience of taking personal responsibility and supporting the development of others.

Ability to remain calm, professional and make effective decisions from the information you have.

Static Worker - Works solely from one office within an office-based team. Some travel may be required to other police sites to discharge duty
