**About us**

NUYU Academy is a small independent training provider that works closely with a diverse community of young people. We offer courses including, stand alone functional skills qualifications, preparation for work support, and full study programmes for 16-18-year olds.

Our group classes take place daily with learners attending the academy in Dover. This requires a tutor who is versatile and able to adapt to a different style of teaching. A good understanding of ICT, including Microsoft Office is important as our resources are digitally stored and Learners complete their workbooks online.

Relevant experience in working with 16-18-year-olds and an understanding of EHCP and learning needs are also important to us.

**Responsibilities**:

- Deliver Functional Skills English & maths (EL3, L1 & L2)
- Deliver Occupational Studies Level 1 (Various Employability Skills)
- Embed Life Skills and Core British Values
- Create recourses, where needed, and plan for own classes.
- Prepare students for exams and motivate them to achieve.
- Advise students on academic or career matters.
- Discuss student progress and complete reviews.
- Marking/grading of coursework and exam papers.

**Working Hours**:
Weekdays 9am - 5pm which includes preparation and reflection time before and after the class. Days to be arranged around tutor and classroom availability.

**Requirements**:

- Level 5 Diploma for Education and Training Full Certificate
- Must be qualified to at least Level 2 Functional Skills (or equivalent) in maths and English.

**Preferred**:

- Experience with Traineeships and Functional Skills reform delivery.
- IAG Qualifications at Level 4 or above.
- TAQA - A1 assessor award
- ICT Qualifications at Level 2 or above.
- Understanding of NCFE qualifications.
