We are looking for a talented and motivated administrator with a keen eye for detail, good computer skills, and who is passionate about patient care. The Nottingham Major Trauma Centre is a hub for treatment of seriously injured patients. Our team plays an essential role in monitoring safety and quality of care for these patients. You would be required to collect data from a range of hospital systems, which describes how patients were cared for and report this data to a range of dashboards and senior clinicians. The role is mainly office/home based, but requires occasional interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.

Main duties of the job

Reading, and obtaining clinical information from patient medical records.

Competently use hospital systems to find information.

Complete data entry with a high degree of accuracy.

Work as part of a team to juggle a large workload.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Interpret and collect data from medical records

Accurate data entry into remote data entry systems

Receive and check documentation, reports, patient information and will process it appropriately, within departmental/study guidelines

Conduct routine quality assurance to protect accuracy of data

Develop a basic knowledge of human anatomy and physiology

Consent patients for national patient safety programmes

Work well in a team environment providing training to junior members of staff where needed

Experience

Essential criteria
- Previous clerical/administration experience
- Equivalent skills gained through an undergraduate degree.

Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of computer data input/search procedures
- Experience with Clinical Data Management
- Experience with Data Entry
- Knowledge of Medical terminology
- Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology
- Hospital administration systems

Communication & relationship

Essential criteria
- Clear & effective written and verbal communication skills

Desirable criteria
- Customer service skills

Planning and organisation

Essential criteria
- Accustomed to organising a large workload

Desirable criteria
- Demonstrate time management skills

Education

Essential criteria
- 5 A-C GCSE passes in Maths and English or equivalent.

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.

NUH will scan your ID and right to work documentation in to the Trust ID system at your face to face ID appointment. The system will run a check against the key security features within your documentation. The system will provide us with an outcome of your check which will be stored securely on your personal file along with all other pre-employment check documentation.

I also consent to the **Occupational Health Department **confidentially accessing my occupational health records from my current or previous employer in order to check the status of my vaccinations, immunisations s and screening tests as relevant to the post.
