**Site Operative, Dudley, £ 11.54** Temp to Perm (13 Weeks goes to £12.54 after successful 13-week probation)

We are ideally looking for people with a driving license or who are within walking distance from the site due to the lack of public transport.

**The Role**:
As a Site Operative, your primary responsibility is to contribute to the recovery of non-ferrous metals through the operation of the static plant, cleaning, routine maintenance, suggesting improvements, and active participation in site meetings. Reporting to the Site Manager, Assistant Site Manager, or Team Leader, you will be crucial in ensuring compliance with all Management Systems, Permit & Planning permissions.

**The Purpose**:

- Co-operate with the site management team to comply with all Management Systems, Permit & Planning permissions.
- Facilitate the recovery of Non-Ferrous Material through cleaning, housekeeping, and basic plant, and equipment maintenance.
- Contribute to training and appraisal processes.

**The Goals/Accountabilities**:

- Set a positive example in Health, Safety, Welfare, Environment, and Quality.
- Understand and adhere to Site Emergency Procedures.
- Report incidents promptly, including accidents, safety concerns, near misses, and environmental or quality incidents.
- Assist in closing inspection/audit findings.
- Comply with Site Rules, work collaboratively in a team, and minimize environmental risk.
- Continually check plant and product quality, suggesting improvements.
- Attend and contribute to H&S meetings.
- Adhere to all company documentation, policies, procedures, risk assessments, and COSHH.
- Maintain a clean work area, practice good housekeeping, and ensure proper PPE usage and storage.

**Maintenance of Plant and Equipment**:

- Maintain high standards of housekeeping on site.
- Report defects immediately and assist in formulating practical solutions.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of PPMs, pre-start inspections, and cleaning regime sheets.

**Recovery of Non-Ferrous Metals**:

- Communicate effectively with mobile plant drivers to maintain a consistent material flow.
- Keep recovery equipment clean and free running throughout operations.
- Understand various operational roles (Float Plants, ECSs, Drying Lines, Picking Stations, Mobile Plant, etc.) and report defects promptly.
- Driven to achieve high-quality results and continuously seek improvements.
- Flexible approach to work, prioritizing effectively.
- Build strong relationships within the team and portray a professional image.
- Exhibit persistence and tenacity.

Operating:

- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve targets.
- Maintain a high standard of record-keeping.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the Line Manager, escalating issues when necessary.

Key Relationships:

- Internal: Site Management, Operatives, Production Management, Commercial Team, Head Office Staff.
- External: Customers, Clients, Environmental Agency and Trading Standards, BSI and Laboratories, HSE, Training Bodies.

Focus (Nature of Interaction):

- Perform and comply with reasonable instructions, ensuring staff adherence to work instructions and managing non-conformities.
- Conduct yourself politely and professionally.
- Promote and maintain a professional, safe working environment while working with third-party stakeholders.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties/responsibilities as required.

**A right to work in the UK must be held to be considered for this role.**

**Salary**: From £11.54 per hour
