**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title** Finance & HR Assistant

**Department** Finance

**Report to** Head of Finance

**Location** Durham - Head Office

**Salary** £21,000 per annum

**Main Purpose**
- Provide a high quality of administrative support to all internal teams on Finance and HR.
- Be responsible for staff and member expenses, POs, and invoicing.
- Be responsible for raising monthly sales invoices and reconcile debtors.
- Provide reporting on Finance when required.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Ensure all members expenses are collated monthly.
- Produce self-billing invoices for expenses monthly.
- Produce BACS payment runs.
- Ensure all POs raised match the invoices and are coded correctly.
- Perform analysis of voluntary funds.
- Check all POs against budgets.
- General book-keeping and preparation of management accounts.
- Update purchase ledger and reconcile to supplier statements.
- Assist with Finance and HR reporting to National Executive Committee and National Council.
- Supporting with the lifecycle process in terms of the starter and leaver processes and paperwork.
- Preparing monthly payroll submission information for external payroll provider.
- Supporting with maintenance of HR records on shared drive and HR system.

**Person Specification**
- Qualifications & Experience Required_

**Essential**
- Experience of using systems, such as Sage and Xero.
- Good understanding of using Excel.
- Confidence in handling queries and having an excellent approach to customer service.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of handling confidential information.
- Able to work to month end deadlines at busier periods.
- AAT Qualification Level 2 or above or working towards.

**Desirable**
- 1-2 years’ Finance experience.
- Knowledge of other Finance systems in general.
- Any other relevant qualification in Finance and Accounting (e.g., AAT).
- Any experience of working with a HR Team or any qualifications in People, HR, or L&D.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £21,000.00 per year
