Youth Worker

**Working Hours**: Monday-Thursday 11am-6pm for the dates above, plus approximately 6 additional hours for training/planning in advance of the project opening date.

**About the Role**: To support the running of a HAF Youth Club for 11-16 year olds. This is a youth project that runs across the summer holidays targeting children who are in receipt of free school meals, under the DfE’s HAF (Holiday Activities & Food) provision.

**Key Responsibilities**: We are looking for an experienced Youth Worker to run the youth club each day, with consideration given to the planned activities taking place.

Prepare the activities for the day, which includes a mixture of crafts, cooking and sports. Assisting in the planning of the activities to ensure a range of quality and enriching tasks each session.

Welcome the young people to each session, keeping accurate records of attendance and following up with those who have booked but do not attend.

Mentoring and supporting individuals to encourage social inclusion. Providing advice and guidance around healthy living and healthy lifestyles.

Overseeing the Volunteer Youth Workers each session, ensuring that they are supporting the group activities effectively. Liaising with third parties such as lunchtime caterers and external sports providers to ensure their services are in place and providing a high standard of provision.

Undertaking administrative tasks, writing reports, verifying information and responding to queries. Being mindful of and potentially raising any safeguarding concerns when speaking with young people.

Full training will be given as well as ongoing training when required. A good understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion as well as health and safety.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4 weeks

Pay: £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28 per week
