**Role Purpose**
The Participation Senior Coordinator will be responsible for delivering participation growth and impact by understanding participant needs and responding through the development of propositions and programme.
**Specific Responsibilities**
Development and Delivery of Participation Strategy
- Support the Head of Participation with the development of the Participation strategy bringing together the work of the wider Participation team and other RDA teams
- Develop and implement projects to deliver the strategy using project management methodology including clear plans, risk logs and evaluation methods
- Develop methods to monitor and evaluate the success of projects, including criteria such as depth and reach of impact
Inclusivity and Accessibility
- Champion the organisation's commitment to disability diversity, inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring that participation programs are welcoming and accommodating to individuals with a wide range of impairments and health conditions
- Collaborate with internal and external experts to incorporate best practices and innovative approaches to ensure the accessibility of equine-based activities
- Ensure that the Accessibility Mark meets RDAs strategic aims and objectives and evaluate, make recommendations and implement areas of improvement within the scheme
Partnerships and Stakeholder Management
- Develop and enhance relationships with organisations focused on disability and long-term health conditions
- Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, schools, and community groups to broaden the reach and impact of RDA’s participation programmes
- Cultivate positive relationships with sponsors and donors to secure funding support for participation initiatives
- Work collaboratively with experts within National Office and Groups to deliver the strategic Participation plan
- Taking the lead for ensuring that the work of the Participation Team is shared with the Communications Team
Quality Assurance and Safety
- Working with the Participation Team to ensure that that all participation programs adhere to the highest standards of safety and quality for our participants, volunteers and our equines
- Developing and maintaining robust monitoring and evaluation processes to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for development and improvement
**General**
- To maintain good external partner relationships with sector media, British Equestrian, and others whose campaigning priorities align, working with them to push for policy change
- Alongside other senior staff, routinely keep up with sector developments and undertake horizon scanning
- To undertake such other duties as the Head of Participation shall from time to time determine, including attending the National Championships as part of the National Office support team.
- To demonstrate the values and cultural aspirations of RDA in all work that is undertaken
- To ensure due consideration is always given to our charitable aims and objectives and that this is demonstrated in all activities undertaken
- To attend and service the National Championships, providing support leading up to the event as requested, as well as supporting the event itself
**Budget Management Responsibilities**
To effectively manage departmental budgets by:
- ensuring delivery of strategic aims and objectives within the constraints of budgets set and availability of funding
- highlighting and managing any budget exceptions in a timely manner with a view to ensuring a balanced budget
- appropriately monitoring and managing spend on external consultancies supporting RDA in relation to the department’s deliverables
**Person Specification**
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sports Management, Therapeutic Recreation, Disability Studies) or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in disability sports, therapeutic riding, or related fields
