Grave Digger

NCSL Ltd is a newly created limited company wholly owned by Norwich City Council, responsible for delivering key environmental and building maintenance operations to the City of Norwich. The responsibilities of this role will be to prepare sites ready for grave digging, ensuring graves are dug to the required specifications using mechanical machines and hand digging techniques whilst following Health and Safety guidelines. This role is vital in ensuring that all locations for graves are ready for interment and that the grave sites and the surrounding ground are kept presentable and tidy.

Due to the nature of this role, the post holder will need to have customer service experience and a polite manner with the workforce and the general public. A full UK driving license and trailer towing (Driver) experience is essential for this role, it is desirable for the post holder to hold a grave digging qualification and mechanical digger experience but not essential.

The post holder will also need to have the ability to work at height and in confined spaces and the ability to work in all weathers. As there will be set time periods for funeral arrangements the post holder will need to be able to work under their own initiative and be able to follow strict time and measures to ensure the work is completed prior to interment.

**Salary**: £19,945.42 per year
