Phoenix are a successful education and care provider with around 40 individual settings and a growing footprint.

Acorn school is an independent co-educational school which provides learning and supportive learning environment for pupils from Key Stage 2-4 with additional needs.

As the school Caretaker you will provide caretaking/cleaning activity including supervising a part-time cleaner. You will maintain good relationships with the teaching teams whilst working alongside our property maintenance team to ensure the school remains in excellent condition both for the pupils as a learning environment and for our Team Members to work in.

**Possible Job Share Opportunity**:
**T**he total number of hours for this role is circa 45 hours, however we are open to discussions on this including the possibility of job share. Possible options could be a straight split of 22 hours with a morning to afternoon shift then an afternoon to close including site lock-up however we are flexible on this. If you are interest in a permutation no matter how fluid it might seem let’s have a chat.

**In this role you’ll help us by**:

- always be customer focussed and have a positive and responsive attitude.
- Participate in basic maintenance and cleaning. Your work will include the interior and exterior of the school including the grounds. You will be carrying out regular (daily/weekly and monthly) checks of equipment, cleaning tasks and hosting contractors visiting the site and liaising with our property services team on larger maintenance tasks.
- be able to use, maintain and store safety the tools and equipment provided whilst carrying out your duties.
- provide a safe environment for our Pupils and our Team Members, through adhering to Phoenix’s Health and Safety Policies, demonstrating best practice and doing your job safely.

**The skills you’ll be sharing with the team**:

- supporting fellow team members and in return having their support.
- an ethos of working flexibility coupled with a sense of humour and a desire to get it right first time - every time.
- Be physically able to carry out tasks.
- Practical skills are a definite advantage although we don’t expect you to be an expert in everything.
- a full driving licence as you will have an allocated van.
- A commitment to working safely. Training will be provided.
