The Library and Learning Centre, Culture and Information Directorate (LLC&CI) combines digital and campus library, archives and museum services, with eLearning, information governance and extensive open research support. Within the Research & Resources Division, the multi-disciplinary LLC Research Services team was formed in response to the increasing policy landscape around the management and reporting of publications. The team deliver a range of services supporting the publication process at the University of Dundee including:

- open access funding and support
- theses deposit and access
- research data management and open data support
- administration of the institutional repository and public research portal
- training, support and advocacy for open research and publishing

We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as within our Research & Resources Division, to assist with the day to day maintenance of the University institutional repository. This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for 6 months.

The LLC Research Services Team are based in the University’s Library and Learning Centre on the main University campus in Dundee and have collective experience across librarianship, cataloguing, publishing, conservation and research. They currently work in a hybrid online format and the role holder will join the team in online meetings and be supported in developing a working relationship with other University libraries, academic colleagues and Scottish Universities OA Press stakeholders.

Your priorities will include:

- Metadata maintenance and quality control. Under supervision and direction of a Publication Support Officer, ensure that content added to Discovery is accurate and up to date.
- Validation of research outputs and importing data from verified sources.
- Working under the direction of Publications Support Officer, provide clerical support for the validation of research post-graduate theses, and for the embargo maintenance service, corresponding with supervisors, students and Registry staff to ensure that information about embargoes is recorded, and requests for extensions to embargoes actioned.
- Using DataCite and CrossRef to mint DOIs for a variety of research outputs such as datasets, theses, and publications.
- Working with a Senior Research Support Officer to create dataset records for the University Data Catalogue
- Collating data for recording and reporting.
- Assisting the Research Support Officer with Twitter.

- A team player, accustomed to working with deadlines and competing priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders and authors and to demonstrate excellent support service skills.
- Experience of providing support to customers.
- A willingness to undertake a wide variety of tasks.
