**Job Description**:
The creative department at Digitas in London comprises a rich mix of UX and UI Designers, Graphic Designers, AR and VR creatives, Conceptual Creative Teams and standalone Writers.

To help realise our ambition of leveraging our creativity and digital skills to make products that make a difference to people, we are looking to add a Creative Technologist to our team.
**Role**:
There are 2 parts to this role.
**Part 1. Doing.**
The term ‘Creative Technologist’ covers a very broad spectrum of job roles and skillsets. On one end of the spectrum there are front end developers with an eye for design. At the other end, you have people who are a walking rolodex of third party technology and digital media suppliers. We are not looking for either of these types. We are looking for someone bang slap in the middle; a genuine Creative who loves and has an in-depth understanding of innovation and technology.

**Part 2. Leading.**

Somewhat surprisingly Digitas doesn’t have a Creative Technologist. You’d be the first. However, our intention is that you’d be the first of many.

Our ambition is to ignite our client’s ambition so we can grow this part of our creative offering. We want our clients to be as excited as we are about designing products (be they digital or physical) that make a difference. You would lead that drive. You’ll be keeping your eyes on the horizon for emerging technologies, and you’ll have a POV about how we can use them. You’ll be able to eloquently communicate with others - agency and clients alike - enthusing them about the art of the possible. As the demand grows, so your team will grow too as you hire exciting young talent.

Qualifications**
Working in the Digitas creative department.**
One of the questions most frequently asked by a Creative Technologist is ‘will I get to do my own thing or am I just there to build the ideas other people come up with?’. The honest answer is both. It depends on how good your ideas are

We believe in a very inclusive process of creation, involving the whole team at the start of the project. The Creative Technologist would be at the briefing along with everyone else and they’d be tasked with cracking the brief too. Sometimes the winning idea will be yours. Sometimes it will be someone else’s and you’ll be asked to pitch in and help. Sometimes you might have an idea for a brief that nobody has even thought of yet and you might need to make a business case to the agency for an investment of time or money.

So being collaborative, innovative and a self-starter are all very important personal qualities.
