Ultimately this is a very personable and hands on role where the interaction and relationship with the team and business is key. Firstly, you will fulfil a drivers role with additional tasks and responsibilities. The role can be expanded to include almost as much of the role as you wish, these are listed below.

Key Accountabilities along side the Transport Manager.
- Driver debriefs - to include vehicle inspections on return to depot before signing off and allowing driver to leave, checking all paperwork is returned.
- Ensuring all records are kept up to date in respect of Temperatures, Hygiene, Staff Records, etc., and to include all Company Manuals
- Supervision of drivers, vehicles, loads and journeys whilst optimizing vehicle efficiency and ensuring timed deliveries are adhered to.
- Health and Safety Management of Operational activity on a day to day basis to include regular vehicle inspections, training of staff and risk assessments as required.
- Maintaining standards of food hygiene and security in the work environment.
- Assist with recruitment of staff, overseeing the training of new starters ensuring they are trained in all aspects of their job role.
- Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the business.
- Staff management day to day; managing holidays, ensuring all company policies are enforced and that the performance and progress of team members is in line with any KPI’s set by the Company.
- Planning minor future capacity requirements with senior team, implementing new routes layouts, monitoring the service, cost and efficiency of deliveries.
- Ensuring compliance with Company insurance policies; understanding those requirements and taking preventative action where necessary..
- Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment; liaising with senior team to ensure all equipment failures are reported and actioned promptly

**Salary**: £27,000.00 per year
