**About the role**

Home Counties Carers pride themselves on recruiting Carers that live and work by traditional values, namely timely and prompt, well presented, good and clear communication skills, polite and well mannered with common sense and a "can do" attitude. They are currently seeking an apprentice to join them in a Team Leader capacity.

**Tasks/responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to)**:

- To undertake Carer supervisions and spot checks
- To support new Carers with their training needs
- Be a mentor to new Carers throughout their induction and support them during shadowing.
- To assess Carer’s performance in accordance with the Care Certificate.
- Undertake administration tasks to appropriately record information gathered in their duties.
- To take responsibility for the on call phone as advised by the Care Coordinator and Care Manager.
- To care for the elderly in their own home.
- To maintain care skills at a current level, and undertake such training and development as may from time-to-time be required to maintain these standards.
- To develop effective working relationships with clients and employees
- To support an open, positive and inclusive working culture
- To embrace the philosophy, goals and objectives of the business
- To assist in the assessment of the effectiveness of the care delivered by staff
- At all times, being current and accurate with record keeping to ensure compliance with the company's quality assurance programme
- Cooperating with the implementation, evaluation, orientation and induction of all new employees.
- Supporting the implementation of Home Counties Carers’s policies and procedures.
- Supporting the effective resolution of team conflicts.
- Supporting a work atmosphere which promotes a high quality of work life.
- Supporting and maintaining a culture of performance and excellence.
- To ensure clients' rights are protected, treating them as you would like to be treated yourself.

**Qualifications required**
- Ideally you would have completed or be considering to complete a qualification in Health & Social Care

**About the training**

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, you will achieve a Level 3 certification and can become an associate or member of the Institute of Leadership and Management or Chartered Management Institute.

**Other Criteria**
- Applicants must hold a Full UK drivers license with access to their own vehicle
- You will be expected to work every other weekend, 2 evenings per week and public bank holidays
