James Rawcliffe Landscapes provides both garden maintenance and landscaping provide a range of expert garden and landscaping services, from garden maintenance through to hard and soft landscaping, delivering a high quality service around Hertfordshire. Our small, friendly team are experienced in all aspects of gardening and landscaping and are here to support you through your apprenticeship journey.

This is an exciting opportunity to learn all aspects needed to join this fast growing industry as a landscape gardener. This role will involve working in a small team visiting a variety of gardens. Learning all aspects of landscaping and garden maintenance towards the Level 2 Horticulture Operative standard.

Skills will be developed though regular training and undertaking daily tasks including:

- Landscaping
- Laying patio
- Fencing
- Turfing
- Sleeper construction
- Digging over beds
- Weeding
- Pruning
- Cutting grass
- Strimming
- Hedge cutting

**Desired skills and qualities**
- An interest in gardening and landscaping and working outdoors is essential
- Any previous horticulture/gardening experience is beneficial but not a requirements
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Able to work well with others under supervision
- A keen interest, enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and reliability are most important

**Desired qualifications**
- GCSE’s, or equivalents in maths and English are desired but not essential

**Future prospects**

**Training**:

- Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
- The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship.
- The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
- The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
- You will also need to achieve Level 3 award in Emergency First Aid at Work and Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance or Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides before undertaking the End Point Assessment.
