Sky Studios Commissioning Editor, Drama

Reporting into Director of Commissioning, Drama, the Commissioning Editor, Drama identifies the best ideas and talent for Sky Studios Scripted Drama commissions and ensures delivery of world-class premium television in line with our editorial strategy.

Key Responsibilities
- Solicit, assess, and develop premium scripted drama ideas from independent producers and talent
- Manage the end-to-end production process including liaising with producers on script notes, casting, appointing HODs and giving notes on cuts
- Engage with the premium indie suppliers, support strategy and target key talent relationships to make Sky their first/preferred partner to work with
- Continuously initiate, develop and manage creative relationships with the global producers and talent across the industry to attract the best ideas and projects
- Work with production management and business affairs to ensure shows are delivered on time and are working to manageable budget parameters
- Uphold and advocate for our D&I values and sustainability commitments

Experience and Skills
- Streamer experience in premium television as exec producer and commissioning editor
- A deep and wide knowledge of the global scripted television and film landscape, as well as an awareness of international drama producers and broadcasters
- A global black-book and excellent relationships with creative talent to attract the best ideas and partners to Sky Studios
- Strong ability and confidence to build long lasting, strategic relationships with talent, production companies and internal stakeholders
- A deep and wide knowledge of the Global scripted television and film landscape
- Strong track record in working with ambitious creative talent, heavily complex editorial, financial and production elements
- Strong grasp of Sky’s scripted ambition, output, tone and level of execution
- An excellent communicator
- Thrives under pressure and deadlines; with inherent ability to prioritize
