Come and join our friendly, creative speech and language therapy team in the Worthing locality which is on the beautiful West Sussex coastline, with easy access to Brighton, London and the South Downs.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a permanent band 6 post working with children with complex needs to include preschool children and children in special schools. This would be a varied role working within two teams supported by our experienced clinical leads. We are committed to CPD and have individual CPD budgets. We also have a strong focus on wellbeing with specific team wellbeing events throughout the years.

Within the Specials Schools team you will need to have experience of working with children with complex communication needs and supporting these needs within an education environment. You will also be required to liaise closely with parents, education staff and other health professionals to ensure strategies and approaches can be embedded both at home and in school.

Within the pre school complex needs team you will need experience of supporting children with complex communication needs and their families. You will also be required to work closely with other Speech and Language Therapists within the team, health professionals and preschool settings.

If successful, you would receive an induction with opportunities for shadowing other team members. We have regular team meetings and clinical forums. We offer in-house training in a range of specialist areas and benefit from access to Trust funding for external courses when appropriate. We also have equipment budgets which enable the service to continually improve resources for assessment and therapy.

To assess, treat and manage own caseload of children with speech, language and communication delay and disorder in the specialist areas of preschool complex needs and special schools.

To provide advice to other professionals and parents in order to support the needs of children with complex speech, language and communication delay and disorder in specialist area.

To liaise with other agencies and services e.g. schools, social care, and voluntary agencies as required.

To advise and provide clinical support to other therapists.

To complete EHCNA as requested
