**Your Opportunity**

The Investigations Manager (GQ) manages the GQ team, providing oversight and leadership to ensure the team conducts investigations robustly, promptly and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

This role is a fixed-term contract (FTC) position for 12 months.

**Key Role-Specific Deliverables**
- Line manage the GQ investigations team
- Monitoring investigations to ensure they are conducted to a high quality.
- Provide leadership and support to Investigators within the Investigations team to ensure investigations are pursued in a timely, effective and compliant manner.
- Planning and managing resources effectively to meet the demands faced by the Investigations team.
- Liaising with and updating regulators and other stakeholders on investigations and related matters.
- Provide training to support the Investigations team and other departments, where necessary.
- Update and develop written procedures, ensuring team members are appropriately trained and adhere to requirements.
- Collate and analysis data when needed and present written and verbal reports.
- Liaise with and co-ordinate activities with other teams/stakeholders within Pearson and the sector.
- Assist other teams in the Business Improvement and Regulation (BIR) division as and when necessary.
- Escalating issues to the Head of Investigations, Director of BIR and other internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.
- Resolving customer complaints and concerns.

- Other teams and staff within BIR, General Qualifications Assessment (GQA), Question Paper Despatch (QPD)
- Heads of Centre and centre staff
- Regulators (e.g. Ofqual, SQA and the Welsh government) and other external stakeholders

**Working Pattern**
- 37.5 hour core working week
- Hybrid working, predominantly working from home
- Flexible working pattern available
- During peak times of activity there are restrictions on leave
- Some weekend work may be required
- May be required to undertake centre visits at very short notice

**Previous Work Experience & Skills**
- Desirable:_
- Working in an investigative role, preferably in a regulated environment
- Working in the education sector
- Previous experience of writing reports
- Experience of managing a team
- Essential:_
- Attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills; ability to review a variety of information/data in order to establish findings and draw conclusions
- Strong written and oral communication skills; Experience of liaising verbally and in writing with a range of external customers and stakeholders regarding complex or sensitive issues
- Prioritising, organising own and others’ workloads to manage multiple high priority tasks
- Working to tight deadlines
- Ability to lead by example
- Ability to coach and support all members of the team

**Systems, Tools & IT Literacy**

Desirable:

- Familiarity with more complex functions of MS Excel to manipulate data
