An exciting vacancy has arisen within the Clinical services division as a Matron for Critical Care Unit, Critical Care Outreach, Resuscitation and Pain.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced nurse with significant experience in the areas of Critical Care or Critical Care Outreach. In this post you will work closely with the Divisional Nurse Director and the Deputy Matron to support the delivery of an efficient and effective service which contributes to the achievement of national and local performance standards. This post will be working cross site to support both Chelsea and Sutton. You will have excellent leadership, communication and managerial skills and will be working in a supportive compassionate dynamic environment.
- To develop strategies that synchronize all functions and activities within these units at Chelsea and Sutton, providing seamless patient care across both sites.
- To manage budgets in a cost-effective way. This will include making cost-savings and efficiency measures across all departments.
- To lead, support and motivate professional and clerical staff to optimise their skills and potential utilising the agreed system of nursing care delivery.
- To report to the Divisional Clinical Nurse Director of Clinical Services on all matters pertaining to the Clinical Services Division.
- To liaise closely with the Divisional Clinical Nurse Director and Nursing Directorate regarding professional issues.

- To monitor clinical standards, evaluate patient care, ensuring practice is evidence based and that clinical guidelines and care pathways are developed and implemented.
- To identify and deal effectively with poor practice and have oversight of the resource management within your areas, ensuring responsible use of resources, while promoting safety and care.
- To be aware of current trends in nursing, both in the Trust, and the NHS, and be able to translate these into practice, for example the 6 C’s.
- Through recruitment and retention, liaison with practice education, develop the skills of the CCU, CCOT, Pain, Resus & Simulation teams,
- To act as line manager and leader to staff within CCU, CCOT, Pain, Resus & Simulation cross site supported by departmental Sisters and Charge Nurses or Leads.
