The Westminster Complex Emotional Needs (CEN) Pathway was Highly Commended at Positive Practice in Mental Health Awards 2021. The service operates across the three Westminster Community Mental Health Hubs, providing timely and accessible interventions to service users presenting primarily with personality-related difficulties. You will be part a team which consists of an Advanced Lived Experience practitioner, one other CEN Pathway Clinician, and a part-time Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy as Clinical Lead.

You will work amongst and consult to Hub team members, creating an environment that supports patient-centred and evidence-based care for this client population. You will also work closely with the Waterview Centre (Specialist Personality Disorder Service), to ensure smooth transitions for those clients at of high risk and complexity who may require the higher intensity treatment offered there.

The post is suitable for an individual with experience in secondary mental healthcare and an interest in working with people with CEN. You will have opportunity to train in DBT, MBT, and brief therapies (Structured Psychological Support SPS) specifically designed for this client population.

You will have regular clinical supervision from the Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy and Clinical Lead for the CEN Pathway.

**1. Key Clinical Duties**:

- To lead on triaging, signposting and coordinating referrals to the Hub, specifically in relation to the CEN Pathway
- To conduct Psychologically informed assessments, care planning and considering treatment options, in collaboration with service users, carers and the multi-disciplinary team, in accordance with the stepped care model.
- To deliver brief interventions, such as Psychoeducation Groups and Structured Psychological Support (SPS) for people within the CEN Pathway.
- To provide time limited case management for a small caseload of service users.
- To provide clinical supervision and consultation training to staff in delivering structured clinical management for people with CEN
- To provide consultation to GPs in the management of people with CEN, as and when indicated
- To be able to provide crisis intervention to service users as and when indicated
- To be involved in co
- delivering structured group based treatments, e.g MBT or DBT groups, as indicated.
- To be able to receive clinical supervision from multi-disciplinary team and clinical supervisors.
- To use reflective practice with colleagues and in clinical supervision, to process the emotional impact of the work and remain consistent and constant in the treatment process.
- To keep accurate written and electronic records, Including care documentation and risk assessment, and write reports.
- To Identify safeguarding issues and demonstrate an understanding of safeguarding legislation and its implementation.

1. Team Responsibilities
- To work independently as well as in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team
- To work along other senior team members in the Community Mental Health Hub to coordinate the day to day work, specifically in relation to the CEN Pathway.
- To work as a key liaison and outreach clinician between the Waterview Centre and the Hub
- To contribute to the strategic development of the CEN Pathway.
- To attend specific team meetings, supervision and staff support.
- To work in partnership with other agencies (e.g in patient units, A and E department, Home Treatment Teams, etc) in planning and delivering care

1. Management, Supervision and Accountability
- To have a valid Professional registration and adhere to professional Codes of Conduct of professional bodies
- To work with the Community Mental Health Hub Manager, Clinical Lead for CEN Pathway, Waterview Team Manager and other senior staff to ensure that there is clear communication and co working within the CEN Pathway and with other services.
