**What we are looking for**

We are looking for a highly motivated **Labourer** to join our team in Building Services. To be successful, you will share our **values**, commitment and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities.

**About the role**

**This is a varied role in which you will be required to**:

- carry out reactive repairs/treatments to council houses in accordance with orders and instructions from our technical admin officers and team leaders.
- identify, collect and use the correct materials, plant and equipment for the identified repairs.
- be responsible for the daily/weekly materials deliveries taken into our Wenham Depot making sure they are correct and allocated to the appropriate operative daily, together with maintaining a tidy and Health and Safety compliant yard/storage facility.

A van (for work use only) is provided equipped with a range of tools appropriate to your trade, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential for this role.

A DBS check will also be required.

**About you**

We are looking for someone with previous experience of domestic responsive property repairs, able to demonstrate training in areas such as drainage, fencing, concreting, roofing, use of power tools and site machinery.

**You will need to demonstrate**:

- the ability to communicate well with tenants, colleagues and supervisory staff as well as understanding and practicing good customer care.
- a pro-active approach and a flexible attitude.
- a sound knowledge of construction practice and related trades technology.
- awareness of Health and Safety at Work Act, practice and responsibility.
- ability to maintain accurate work records.

You need to able to drive and be able to support a wide range of repairs associated with the maintenance of council homes, including clearance work, deliveries and supporting other trades staff as required.
