Trainee Awning

**Trainee Awning/Pergola fitter**

Due to our expanding business we are looking for a new Trainee Awning/Pergola fitter.

Ideal position for school/college leaver who still needs to attend day release to finish exams.

We offer full training to become a fully qualified fitter, which will mean the ability to install, maintain and repair manual & electric awning systems, retractable canopies, retractable roof system, full glass systems and internal blinds.

Learning to use various type of measuring equipment including laser levels. You will be learn to operate a range of both metal and wood working equipment.

This is a customer facing role so you will be expected to be presentable, polite and have a clear understanding of the English language both written & spoken.

Have a flexible approach to start and finishing times due to travelling and traffic conditions, there will be early starts and late finishing times. You will be required to start from our West Drayton workshops at times required. All hours outside normal working times are paid as overtime.

You must have the ability to work within a small group and take / follow instructions.
The role involves climbing and lifting, working off ladders / towers and lifting heavy objects so it is expected you will need to maintain a reasonable level of fitness to ensure you can carry out the duties required.

Clear and presentable writing will be expected along with basic Maths knowledge as we complete reports and all of our work entails measuring, therefore handwriting needs to be legible.

Training courses may take place in the UK or Germany therefore you will be expected to attend and present yourself in a professional manner.
