**Job role and accountability**:
This role of Middle Weight Designer is to produce print-ready and web ready products by either the creation of your own workable ideas or taking and enhancing a concept from other studio creatives, before it is sent to print or use online. This may involve reworking or developing the design, including colours, typography, placements, sizing and removing inconsistencies. A willingness to learn new skills and utilize the strong creative and production skills you already have. A capability to work both independently or with senior creative staff on design/creative based projects is innate. With the aim of helping to enhance the performance of clients campaigns and personal skills, via the implementation, manipulation and understanding of typography, image and layout design.

**Responsibilities**:
**CREATE**

A developed understanding of how to implement a client's brand and ‘tone of voice’, in order to produce creative and reproductive work that represents the identity, personality and style of the individual brand.

Work closely with the team or independently, to create and follow designs and artwork from a concept to final approval.

A solid awareness of design trends, software and other technologies to enhance your own performance. Creating and preparing artwork and digital assets for print or use online.
A creative understanding and ability to produce headlines and taglines when required.
A strong creative solutionist with the ability to produce workable concepts and ideas.
Undertake appropriate research when required to aid production and projects competion.

**MANAGE**

To manage and create work to the expected KAL Design Quality Standard; taking responsibility for your own spelling, grammer, content, pre-checks before handover.

To take note and question, during handover of design briefings/ amendments in the most appropriate format for efficient production of the finished product.

A passion to develop and learn your craft via mentorship, guidance and critique, through regular informal and formal communication.

Enhanced ability to work on a number of projects at any time.

**ADMINISTRATION**

To adhere to and manage approved checking procedures during production and before ‘repro’ file dispatch/handover.

To ability to produce professional support documents to aid the smooth workflow of projects or websites, including but not exclusively; site maps or logic flow diagrams, digital asset lists, development guide documents and on and offline presentation files.

To support your team in client meetings on site, or at the KAL office when required.
To complete the appropriate management and archiving of the digital assets you work with and create. To look for opportunities to self improve and streamline your workflow or performance within the studio. To follow workflow (and question) methods and approval processes implemented within the company.

Any other activity that, from time to time, may be required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £22,000.00-£25,802.76 per year
