Friday (alternate) 8am - 4pm/10:15am - 6:15pm
**Summary**:
To provide an accurate and efficient repeat prescription and dispensing service to the patients in this large dispensing practice. The practice has over 44000 registered patients and dispenses medication for approximately two thirds of those patients.
**Main Responsibilities and Duties**:
- To maintain complete confidentiality at all times in matters relating to patients, their carers, practice staff and the business of the practice.
- To input and maintain accurate computer data relevant to patients drug records and to generate repeat prescriptions, adhering to practice protocols and standard operating procedures.
- To accurately dispense repeat and acute prescriptions, checking compliance and raising queries as appropriate with the clinicians, adhering to practice protocols and standard operating procedures
- To deal with telephone enquiries from patients, hospital staff, pharmacies and others relating to medication and prescriptions.
- To assist patients with enquiries at the dispensary reception.
- To assist patients as they call to collect their dispensed medication, ensuring back of prescription is completed and ensuring the prescription fee is collected and recorded where appropriate.
- To check exemption certificates and assist with any related administration/ paperwork relating to the running of the dispensary.
- To cash up the till, reconciling with the till receipts and debit/credit card receipts
- To work with other members of the team to order drugs and maintain stock levels.
- To assist with general ‘housekeeping’ tasks such as ensuring work areas are kept clean and tidy, checking and putting away orders, removing out of date stock, monitoring fridge temperatures
- To attend in-house training sessions which may be on any day, Monday-Friday
- To attend external training events within reasonable travelling distance.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the post, as delegated from time to time by the Pharmacist Superintendent or Dispensary Manager
- To adhere to practice policies and protocols as set out in the staff handbook and the Health and Safety book.
- Any other duties as advised by your Line Manager
