We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Yard Operative to join our team. As a Yard Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operations of our yard and workshop. Your primary responsibilities will include loading and unloading lorries, workshop CNC machines, painting steel components, cutting and drilling steel and providing assistance to our skilled steel fabricators. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively.

**Responsibilities**:

- Safely and efficiently load and unload lorries, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials.
- Paint steel components using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure a high-quality finish.
- Provide assistance and support to steel fabricators in their daily tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized yard and workshop area.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspection of equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow.
- Participate in training programs to expand skills and knowledge, with potential for career advancement to learn how to operate CNC machines and take on more responsibilities.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a construction or manufacturing environment.
- Basic knowledge of loading and unloading techniques and safety procedures.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with fabricators and other team members.
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain a clean and orderly yard and workshop area.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
- Commitment to safety and following established protocols and guidelines.

**Salary**: £8.09-£11.90 per hour

Expected hours: 39 - 50 per week
