**About the role**:
We are looking for an Imports Business Partner to workin collaboration with the key stakeholders (internally & externally) ensure all aspects of imports are effectively managed to deliver first class compliance with Matalan business requirements and HMRC regulations.
- Working cross functionally (trading teaM/Freight forward / carriers) to ensure detailed management of the freight movements to enable the process to be as efficient and effective as possible. Closely managing utilisation of space and on time management of shipments to Matalan business expectations. Liaising with merch teams, origin ports, carriers and freight forwarders.
- Proactively manage the port partner pairings to ensure correct usage of allocated volumes, accurate management of data, analysis of data to ascertain efficiency, control costs and ultimately mitigate risks to Matalan
- Work closely with merch team to ensure true partnership and collaborative working is created to understand the critical path and shipment needs to ensure maximum profit achieved from sales
- Manage all day to day queries to ensure the shipments are within Matalan business expectations
- Work collaboratively with the freight forwarder and DC’s to ensure any projects are managed appropriately and in line with agreed timelines and costs
- Proactively liaise with merch partners and freight forwarders to ensure all critical products are shipped and managed in accordingly to maximise sales
- Monthly / Quarterly / Annual reviews to be carried out with merch partners to call out issues and establish actions/processes to drive efficiencies
- Create periodic reports for merch partners to explain the performance. Identify risks along with mitigating actions, and opportunities
- Manage the UK landside delivery requirements to ensure that the delivery process is maintained and in line with expectations

**About You**:

- Proven management experience and influencing skills sufficient to be able to create positive relationships to manage the imports movements effectively
- Excellent organisation, project management and planning skills as well as proven ability to prioritise multiple aspects of imports activities while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy in a fast paced and changing environment
- Effective supplier management including regular review meetings and KPI management to deliver business strategy objectives
- PC literate inc Microsoft word, excel, PPT and ability to adapt to new systems and developments
- Effective time and risk management
- Proactive and flexible approach
- Imports technical knowledge and business acumen
