Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term 12 months, full time (40 hours per week) post based in St Johns Hospital starting August 2024.

ENT within NHS Lothian covers all NHS Lothian hospitals and interacts with many other specialties. Our primary adult service is based in St John’s Hospital in Livingston and our primary paediatric service is based in the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (RHCYP). We employ 15 consultants and 6-7 Senior Trainees.

We offer the full range of diagnostic and therapeutic Head and Neck surgical procedures and serve a population of around 1.1 million. We have a weekly Head and Neck MDT and a monthly Endocrine MDT and Skull-Base MDT.

We run all day operating Monday-Thursday with a half day Friday list and additional operating opportunities in the neurosurgical, thoracic and paediatric services as required.

Our research team recruits to a wide spectrum of head and neck and thyroid surgical and oncological clinical trials. In addition, an active database program facilitates regular publications from the unit.
