Our client is a truly global player and supplies product to multiple sectors including pharmaceutical, medical device, automotive, fmcg and electronics. They partner with some of the leading specialists in their fields to produce a product regarded as the best in their industry. They have been established in Fife for several years and are regarded as an employer of choice in the local area.
The company is fully committed to the development of it people and process and as such they are looking to hire an experienced supply chain specialist to lead the procurement and planning function for the Glenrothes site.
In this role you will be responsible for co-ordinating and directing all Procurement and Planning activities in Europe and provide guidance and support to Procurement and Planning teams. Responsibilities to include:
- Manage relationships with key suppliers ensuring that supply chain is maintained within stated areas.
- Responsible for co-ordinating and directing all Planning and Procurement activities.
- Establish measurement tools to demonstrate performance of Planning & procurement Teams.
- Responsible for liaising with Product Development team.
- Responsible for ensuring best value in terms of price, quality and service in relation to Procurement Department.
- Responsible for negotiating and benchmarking all suppliers to obtain best price, quality and service.
- Responsible for all legal matters relating to Procurement Department.
- Create and manage a system of lower total cost of ownership.
- Carry out Performance Management of direct reports.
- Demonstrate Continuous Improvements within Procurement and Planning.
- ERP system knowledge
- Lead performance improvement activities
As a supply chain professional, you will have the ability to create and build supplier relationships with a strong financial awareness and the impact of orders on financial performance of the business. The team is a mix of both purchasing and planning however ideally you will have a strong purchasing background with experience of managing and leading across the supply chain.
