**Import Merchandiser**

**Overall Purpose**: A merchandiser is responsible for the supply of clothing product to retail outlets. The merchandise itself comes direct from the manufacturer and includes a wide range of products as per the needs and requirements of each specific retail client.

The merchandiser ensures that their products are at the right place, at the right time and in the correct quantity.

The culture and work environment is exciting, busy and fast paced with Import Merchandisers working very closely with all departments from sales, design, QC and logistics as well as factories across the world.

**The Role:

- You will be managing and raising purchase orders in an accurate and timely manner.
- You will be monitoring the internal critical path including lab dip submissions, accessory approvals, samples (development and production) prices and ensuring on time garment production.
- You will work closely with customers monitoring the critical path and where necessary, negotiating delivery extensions and communicating any issues.
- You will be responsible for updating all relevant data systems daily providing clear visibility of what stage orders/samples are at to ensure easy follow and transparency of order information across the team.
- You will communicate issues when they arise to relevant departments and agree timely and commercial solutions.
- You will be working closely with the QC team to ensure customer fit comments/issues are highlighted and communicated to suppliers and relevant departments, and to monitor any changes that may have an effect on price or lead time.
- You will be analytically and commercially minded looking at opportunities to repeat orders on fast selling product lines.
- You will be able to build and maintain strong working relationships manufacturers and customers.
- You will be a team player, be able to work cross functionally with all departments from Senior management, sales, design, QC and logistics as well as overseas suppliers
- You will be flexible with work duties and hours as required by the team and business, and be able to attend fit & customer meetings for which travel may be required.

**Core skill requirements**
- A relevant degree-level qualification in fashion, clothing or têxtiles is desirable but not essential.
- At least 1 years' experience in a similar role is desirable
- A good understanding of the supply chain and experience in dealing directly with Far East suppliers
- Experience in maintaining a critical path and working to deadlines
- Knowledge of garment make-up and production methods advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong adaptable work ethic
- Strong IT skills, Outlook and Excel
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Good decision maker
- Excellent time management skills

**Salary**: £18,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
