**JOB TITLE**: Workflow Administrator and Summariser REPORTS TO: Operational Practice Manager HOURS: 25 hours per week Job Summary: The purpose of the role is to: Responsible for the summarising and read-coding of relevant information into the patients electronic healthcare records on EMIS Web clinical system, adhering to the practice notes summarising policy. Support the multi-disciplinary team, providing administrative support as required, in line with the needs of the practice. The following are the core responsibilities of the medical records summariser. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels: Reviewing records and accurately producing a summary of the patients medical history Accurately read-coding data on EMIS Web Clinical system Reviewing progress of summarising ensuring practice targets are achieved Review all clinical letters ensuring they are processed appropriately, in line with extant protocols File and store records as required Photocopy documentation as required Action all incoming emails and mail in a timely manner Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately Carry out system searches as requested Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested In addition to the primary responsibilities, the medical records summariser may be requested to: Review and update summarising policy as required (in conjunction with the Practice Manager) Partake in audit as directed by the audit lead (GP Partner) Support reception staff, providing cover during staff absences Book appointments
