**Generic responsibilities**:
1. Use your specialist, technical knowledge to assist in the delivery of a high
- quality customer service and ensure the council can meet its relevant statutory obligations in accordance with relevant legislation, codes of practice and other regulatory bodies

2. Provide specialist advice and support both internally and externally referring particularly complex or risky issues to your manager and or senior colleagues.

3. Provide relevant and technical assistance and support to colleagues.

4. Contribute to the review and updating of relevant service specific policies and procedures.

5. Represent the council both internally and externally as appropriate.

6. Retain relevant technical or professional membership or licence (where relevant), work to its codes and participate in learning that will help you perform your role successfully and the wider team meet the standards expected.

7. Fulfil the work schedule and key performance targets set for your role including the management and delivery of a related caseload of work

8. Contribute to specific project work including the associated fundraising, budget oversight, procurement and purchasing.

9. Where necessary, contribute effectively to a team of people to deliver a project

10. Demonstrate a strong customer focus when contributing to both internal and external partnerships relevant to your service area.

11. Recognise opportunities for doing things more efficiently and then assist with the embedding of process and performance improvement.

12. Research, report and analyse performance management information to make useful recommendations for process and performance improvement.

13. Provide a service link to other similar professionals across the council to ensure a corporate approach is achieved.

**Purpose**

To provide housing & homelessness advice in accordance with policy, regulation and

Legislation to victim/survivors of domestic abuse.

**Service to Customers**

1. To ensure the Council meets its statutory duties in relation to the Domestic

Abuse Legislation 2021 and the Homeless Legislation and support each referral to access safe and appropriate accommodation.

2. Independently undertaking statutory homelessness investigations through to decision

3. To provide innovative housing options advice and prevent homelessness in as many cases as possible.

4. Provision of casework support relating to provision of emergency and temporary accommodation, housing lettings, homelessness and unlawful eviction in accordance with relevant policy and legislation

5. To provide face to face housing assistance and support to vulnerable customers with a range of complex needs including home visits and lone working. This also involves dealing with abusive or angry customers.

6. To carry out DASH risk assessments and ensure the safety of the customer and staff are always maintained.

7. Make appropriate referrals to other support or accommodation services where needed to ensure the customer has the right support and options for their circumstances.

To keep accurate records of casework and to comply with legal requirements and provide robust performance information

**Colleagues, Self and Partners**

Work in conjunction with external agencies to solve housing issues specifically relating to Domestic Abuse e.g. representing the Council at MARAC (Multi Agency

Risk Assessment Conference), DAPP (Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Panel) meetings and DAP (Domestic Abuse Panels) etc. when necessary.

1.To work in partnership with a range of agencies e.g. probation, Women’s Aid,

Police, Housing Associations, other Local Authorities, Voluntary Sector

Organisations, Children’s Services and Adult Social Care, and use appropriate legislation and joint working protocols ensuring the housing and well-being needs of all customers are met appropriately.

2. To attend court, child protection and safeguarding vulnerable adults case conferences.
