We are proud to be representing our well-established urban regeneration development company who are currently seeking a Construction Manger to be a key member of a team. To assist and manage teams of construction professionals and contractors to developproject briefs in accordance with agreed procurement and contract guidelines.
**Purpose of the role**:
The post holder will directly manage and be responsible for part of the portfolio of projects and needs to be able to prove that they have previous understanding and knowledge in delivering similar projects on site. When needed the post holder will act asthe project manager, employer's representative, or contract administrator to facilitate in the delivery of each project. During the interview, they must be able to show experience of carrying out these duties and must have sufficient knowledge and experienceto do so.
**Essential Skills Required**
- Demonstrable experience delivering capital works projects
- Demonstrable experience managing multiple construction projects
- Competent use of all Microsoft office suite including MS Project, Excel, and Word
- Good building surveying pathology and knowledge of building regulations
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience of liaising with residents
**Duties**:
- Managing tenure housing works programmes and projects which are mainly new build, delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality
- Main point of contact in the delivery of projects, taking on the role of client representative for internal/external stakeholders
- Responsible for managing junior members of staff
- Preparing client briefs and project execution plans with other project team members
- Responsible for effectively administering contracts for multiple capital works projects
- Undertake assigned projects, ensuring that agreed outcomes are delivered on time, within budget and to the expected standard
- To carry out regular site inspections following efficient site reports to ensure that project reporting is accurate
- Responsible for programme and project risk management, whole life costs and value engineering
- Manage the performance of project teams, project outcomes and the supply chain ensuring that appropriate action is taken to achieve agreed targets for each project
- Support, chair and minute progress and project team meetings
- Carry out all health and safety obligations relevant to your role under the internal procedure
- Effectively manage complaints in accordance to the policy and procedures
- Effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders
- Responsible for delegated budgets and the planning and programme of projects
- Prepare regular project reports, including progress reports and cash flow forecasts, etc.
- To understand technical knowledge / experience of both Civil Engineering and Built Environment to work with statutory undertakers and experience of working on the public highway
- Accurate and timely reporting of KPIs and budgetary information to senior management
- Assist on the procurement of contractors and external consultants in accordance with procurement procedures
