We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join the team at a wonderful, flourishing primary school in Havering, London in April 2023.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supporting students in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, as directed by the class teacher or SENCO
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of lessons, activities, and resources that are tailored to individual needs
- Monitoring and recording progress and achievements of students, and providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers
- Promoting positive behavior and social interaction among students, and intervening when necessary to manage challenging behavior
- Helping to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that is conducive to learning and well-being of all students
- Undertaking administrative tasks and other duties as required by the school

**Requirements**:

- Experience of working with children or young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), preferably in a school setting
- Good knowledge of the national curriculum and different teaching strategies that can be used to support students with SEND
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers, and external agencies
- A positive, empathetic, and patient attitude, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- A willingness to undertake training and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills
