**Job Title: Safety Camera Operations Viewer**

**Salary: £25,803 to £27,735 plus a Location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £25,803 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £27,735 will be via incremental progression.**

**Location: Sidcup**

This is an exciting time to be working as Safety Camera Operations Viewer for the Metropolitan Police Service. **Key Responsibilities**

What does the average day look like? Your core duties will include:

- Ensure all Speed and Red-Light related offences received via the digital Safety Camera systems are viewed in accordance with legislation
- Undertake secondary checks on the offences received from the digital network as part of the viewing process
- Undertake Police National Computer (PNC) checks for all Safety Camera Activations and searching PNC to identify the correct vehicle registration
- Ensure all offences are accounted for in accordance with guidelines and procedures
- Complete evidential statements in relation to cases that are being dealt with through the Prosecutions process
- Identify any persistent offenders and ensure all appropriate action is taken
- Attend court and give evidence if or when necessary
- Undertake any other administrative duties as directed

**Essential Criteria**
- Good working knowledge of information technology, including Microsoft Office programs
- Be willing to complete a PNC training course in order to fulfil the role

**Desirable Criteria**
- An understanding of Safety Camera processes and the underpinning legislation, Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988, and the Road Traffic Act 1988
- Awareness of the Mayors Vision of zero people killed or seriously injured on London’s Roads by 2041
