This opportunity is in the solution design and development arena for **Systems Tester** who will play a major role with the technical design and development of company’s technical offerings. The role is based at our Leicester office with occasional assignments at client locations.

**Job Description (Main Duties and Responsibilities)**:

- Run manual and automated tests.
- Creation of the following test artefacts; traceability matrix, test strategy, test plan, test schedule, sign off document and the supporting of test script authoring
- Promotion of best practice for TDD and contribution to process improvement whenever possible.
- Representing the test role at key project meetings, including planning, demonstrations, negotiating with stakeholders and developers, and communicating effectively at an appropriate technical level with the rest of the business
- Responsible for collaboration with business representatives, delivery teams and 3rd party suppliers in designing and executing business process-based tests and scheduling activities
- A strong understanding of test management systems
- Test in different environments including web and mobile.
- Designing and creation of well crafted, resilient automated test suites.
- Take pride and responsibility of the work delivered, anticipating potential issues and being solution driven.
- Act as the gateway for software development into the system test, UAT and production environments
- Work collaboratively in a cross-functional agile environment with other I&V with the development teams as required.
- At least 3 years' experience of testing in a TDD environment e.g., pairing with developers to collaborate on test design
- A good understanding of Client Server, n-tier and Event Driven architectures; latest development platforms (J2EE,.NET); Mobile development (iOS and Android) and REST APIs and their concepts.
- Experience of working with Agile, SCRUM or RAD techniques and exposure to web services testing using SOAPUI, test driven development approach such as Cucumber, Selenium Web Driver
- Good skills in Linux/AIX system administration
- Experience of working in either an operational environment with system and process knowledge
- Solid understanding of manual test principles including Exploratory Testing and Session
- ‘Test first’ mentality and the willingness to champion testing throughout the SDLC.
- Enthusiastic about the web technologies, latest browsers and operating system platforms and at least theoretical understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, AJAX and JSON, UML, TDD, BDD
- ISEB and ISTQB Testing certified
- The ability to maintain rigorous compliance with project deliverables and industry standards is a prized asset
- Organizational skills with the capability of working towards tight deadlines

**Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or above in the UK or Equivalent.**
