Job Title - Security Supervisor

Location - Tango

Reports to - Security Supervisor

**Purpose**

To manage and supervise the Security team based at two sites within the TFM Contract. To ensure the physical security for the sites meets the contractual and customer requirements. This role also includes assisting and supervising call management on the IDL Service Desk out of hours.

**Accountabilities**
- To manage the rota of Security Officers and ensure cover is provided at all times
- To manage the recruitment of Security Officers across two sites
- To ensure HR policies are followed in the management of personnel
- To perform annual appraisals on the Security team as required
- To monitor and approve overtime as required
- To create Security Management Plans for the provision of security services across two sites as required.
- To ensure Security Officers receive the correct training to maintain and fulfil their duties as required.
- To Supervise the internal and external patrolling of buildings/offices and perimeter.
- To control access to building to permit only authorised personnel to enter
- To provide and supervise visitor receptions services to persons visiting the site
- To detect and if possible prevent, forcible or surreptitious entry to site/building by those without authority and deter and detect vandalism
- To carry out and supervise the random access/exit searches of members of staff entering and leaving the building
- To monitor activity on site and in the immediate vicinity of the site
- To act as first point of contact for emergency and co-ordinate emergency response where necessary.
- To where necessary deal with suspect postal packages and suspicious objects in accordance with agreed procedures.
- To monitor the effectiveness of the end of day security measures in the workplaces
- To carry out and supervise the monitoring of the alarm systems and BMS system as required and to escalate accordingly.
- To provide an overview of deliveries to site as required
- To ensure the IDL Service Desk phone is monitored Out of Hours by Security Officers
- To ensure calls are logged on the Service portal as required out of hours
- To ensure calls are escalated from the Service Desk as required out of hours
- To provide recommendations for quality and improvement initiatives
- To undertake duties in accordance with post instructions and customer requirements
- To undertake any other adhoc tasks and responsibilities as required by line management.
- To provide cover for other members of the Security team
- To comply with Health, Safety and emergency procedures
- Key Health and Safety Accountabilities Include
- Working safely and efficiently and with due regard for their own health and safety and the welfare of others including, company staff, authority staff, contractors, and members of the public.
- Not interfering or misusing anything provided by Interserve or the Authority in the interests of Health, Safety and Welfare in pursuance of any of the relevant statutory provisions.
- Adhering to safe systems of work procedures and practices and using appropriate safety equipment and clothing provided by Interserve.
- Reporting to the appropriate person all unsafe conditions/ damage/ near misses - whether or not there are any personal injuries, in order that remedial actions can be taken.
- Familiarising themselves with and complying with all site rules, regulations, practices and procedures affecting health and safety.
- Attending safety training in accordance with the Interserve with the Interserve company requirements
- To comply with Part B of the Health and safety company procedure and emergency procedures as required.

**Technical Education**
- SIA Licence Holder and CCTV Training
- First Aid Training

**Experience and qualities**
- Good Communication Skills
- IT literate
- Customer focused approach
- Able to work on own initiative
- Must have a flexible and adaptive approach
- Must be willing to undergo extended security clearance
