Maintenance Assistant

Our client one of the UK's leading providers of on-campus residential and academic accommodation infrastructure are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join their Team.
We are looking for people who can commit to starting in January 2023 for an 18-month contract so there's a total of £1500 loyalty bonus available, with payments made throughout your contract.
Location: Leeds

**Salary**: £24,999 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
This role works as a member of a team providing both a planned and responsive maintenance service across Leeds sites. You will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, statutory testing and health and safety.
This will include:

- Carrying out reactive and proactive maintenance and ensure the environment is maintained in accordance with SLA's.
- Assisting with the moving of refuse, white goods, mattresses, and furniture in a safe manner.
- Assisting with statutory testing including fire alarms, fire extinguishers, blankets and detectors and water temperature monitoring.
- Reporting any health & safety issues relating to the residence.
Our ideal applicant will have/be;
- Experience of working in a maintenance environment
- A solid understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services
- A good understanding of health and safety and how to work in a safe manner
- A good conversational standard of the English language and an ability to read and interpret our Health & Safety guidance.
- Prepared to work (with notice) at other sites if required and additional hours when the need arises, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
