Our 72 hour bed service sits within our crisis team, and there will be an expectation for the worker to carry out crisis team duties within working hours where capacity allows-this may be to support the stabilisation of a young person being discharged from a Tier 4 unit, or intensive therapeutic work to support them to remain in the community/prevent admission where it is safe to do so. As part of the 72 hr bed programme the practitioner will provide support to vulnerable children and their families who may require a brief Tier 4 admission in Essex, Southend and Thurrock. The aim is to provide rapid and accessible T4 Mental Health crisis intervention for young people, where needs cannot be met in the community, for a period of 72 working hours.
