Transport Team Leader

Leading and coordinating a team to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods and personnel
- ** Your Role **:The Transport Team Leader is a first line management role for operational and office colleagues when on shift. They will be responsible for a team of Transport Planners, Operatives and Drivers with the focus on smooth operational running in line with KN Road Logistics strategies and a focus on people management. You will be required to effectively communicate within the team, support with running the operation on a day-to-day level, focused on Transport operations and peripherals but working very closely to ensure smooth operation with Hub and Warehouse. They will also be expected to be communicating effectively and professionally with several departments across the business.
- ** Your Responsibilities**:
- Oversee domestic customer planning and daily road operations.
- Manage cost and revenue recovery on a daily basis with an emphasis on the bottom line.
- Investigate and resolve transport errors such as mis-labelled freight findings.
- Manage transport resources in accordance with procedures and the law, take ownership of transport logs, infringement and defect processes,
- Ensure team members are competent and regularly updated on performance, safety, and other relevant matters.
- Lead a team to support members in the transport business area.
- Handle first-tier escalations and dispute resolutions, and handle performance management, including return to work plans, counselling, and disciplinary hearings.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with drivers and colleagues; carry out investigations in line with company policies.
- Ensure Dangerous Goods and O License commitments are complainant ; Monitoring driver's hours and performance metrics.

**Your Skills and Experiences**:
- Experience as a Team Leader/First Line Manager in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Willingness to be flexible with working hours, including overtime as needed to meet operational and business demands.
- Proficiency in numeracy, literacy, and IT skills, including Microsoft Suite.
- Effective communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to drive results.
- Customer-focused mindset and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
