Manufacturing Futures are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer for an industry leading business near Sheffield. We are looking for an experienced engineer who comes from a traditional engineering background (machining, precision engineering metalsect) and has had some commercial exposure in prior roles (you will be speaking to customers frequently to understand their requirements). Working for anexpanding business you will provide accurate design solutions by using CAD to support members of the design and production teams.

**Design Engineer - Role and Responsibilities - AutoCAD / Mechanical Design / NX**
- Design of close tolerance machined components, castings and moulded parts, pressed metal components, shaft, bearing / seal design and component selection
- Development of new products as per the customer specification
- Working closely with customers and their engineering departments
- Producing drawings, calculations, specifications and technical reports which may include performance and failure investigation

**Design Engineer - Skills and Abilities - AutoCAD / Mechanical Design / NX**
- A minimum of 2 years experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
- A relevant qualification in a Mechanical Engineering discipline
- Excellent understanding of design for manufacture, machining tolerances, GD&T
- Ability to solve complex engineering problems
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively as a member of a high-performance team.
