A school in Manchester is looking for an Interim Business Manager to join their team. The role will be to start ASAP. The role will initially be interim but there is an option of Temp - perm for the right individual. The role will be Monday to Friday,8am - 4pm
Your new role
- To provide professional leadership and management on all non
- educational, operational aspects of the school with the primary purpose of supporting the achievements and outcomes of the children and young people.
- Responsible, under the direction of the Headteacher, for financial matters having due regard to the appropriate financial directions and regulations of the Authority
SUPPORTING SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT
- To ensure that resource planning and allocation is aligned with the strategic plan and identified priorities.
- To develop and maintain effective relationships with the Department for Education, local authorities
OPERATIONS:

- Work with a range of professional advisers, service providers and staff to develop and deliver the strategic plan.
- To provide strategic vision and leadership across all operational functions
- To develop quality central services provision to include ICT, HR and Catering ensuring value for money.
FINANCE
- Detailed monitoring of the main and separate departmental capitation and other budgets and advise on implications of decisions
- Advice and recommendations on matters relating to income and expenditure including production of statements and forecasts including half-termly financial reports to the Finance Committee and the full Governing Body
- Preparation of forecasts and papers for annual budget setting meeting
- Provide long-term strategic budget planning information, and, where necessary, recommendations to the Board of Directors on actions to meet the strategic plan
- Support the Board of Directors, Accounting Officer and Principals in formulating and establishing a business plan and strategies that will ensure financial viability as well as efficient and effective operations
- Oversee the work of the Finance Team and engage with external auditors
- Work with the Audit Committee to manage risk management strategy and procedures
- Working with the Finance Team, ensure that all external monitoring and financial returns are submitted on time.
- Manage the effective purchasing and procurement of services and negotiate, manage and monitor contracts, tenders and agreements for the provision of support services to include; school improvement, HR/ payroll, facilities, ICT, Insurance, transport, cateringand other advisory services
