Senior Payroll Administrator - Newcastle

£26,000-£31,500+2K Bonus

Jackson Hogg are delighted to be supporting a well-established business on the appointment of a Senior Payroll Administrator.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Accurate payroll processing — from start to finish within the agreed timeframe
- Producing Employee documents, RTI and pension files
- Processing HMRC and 3rd party payments on time
- Carrying out day to day payroll tasks
- Running complex payrolls
- Liaising with clients and building rapport
- Holding meetings with clients as part of the grading project
- Creating statutory payment rules, schedules & top up
- Using imports for data processing
- Creating complex reports, imports, functions & set ups on company level
- Manual calculations — starters & leavers, tax & NI, SL, pensions
- Payments after leaving & leavers’ payments
- Early payroll runs & re-runs
- App levy, ER allowance, Small ER relief — calculations and implementation
- Payroll reversals/corrections + EYUs
- Liaising with HMRC
- Checking colleagues’ payrolls
- First point of contact for Administrators’ queries
- Working closely with the Payroll Managers on creating & improving procedures
- Getting involved in (inter)departmentaI projects
- Assisting with implementations of small payrolls
- Taking an active role within the team ensuring a smooth running of the team
- P11d processing
- Holding training sessions with junior colleagues on the above-mentioned processes/regulations

**Skills Knowledge and Expertise**
- Excellent team player —able to spot the team’s and departmental needs
- High-level attention to details
- Good written & verbal communication skills
- Able to step up when the Payroll Manager is not available
- Good training and mentoring skills

**Qualifications and Knowledge**:

- Over 3 years of payroll experience
- Education payroll experience is advantageous
- Experience with MDC, MCR, LGPS and teachers pensions is desirable but training will be provided

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £26,000.00-£31,500.00 per year
